How long does a smartphone repair take?

Smartphone repair times vary depending on several factors, including the nature and complexity of the issue and the availability of replacement parts.  Where there is a single fault, and parts are in stock a repair will usually take a few hours, however, for more complex issues or extensive repairs that require diagnostic testing, component replacements, or software troubleshooting, the repair process may take longer. Our average repair time is 2-3 days from receiving your phone.  We don’t make guarantees we can’t stick to, but we do promise to keep you updated at every step of the process, so you know exactly what’s going on with your repair.

What should I do before I send my phone for repair?

  • Back up your data: Make sure you back up your data before sending your phone for repair. We are unable to recover any data from your phone and all phones will be reset to factory settings during the repair process.
  • Rest or remove security locks: Disabling security features like PIN, pattern lock, or fingerprint authentication can make it easier for the technicians to access your phone and test its functionality. The easiest way to do this is to perform a full factory reset
  • Remove your SIM card: Please remove your SIM card before you send your device to us. We cannot return SIM cards, any SIM cards received are securely destroyed. If you do accidently forget to remove your SIM card please contact your network provider for a replacement.
  • Securely package the phone for shipping: Always package your device securely with adequate protection to avoid damage during transit. Use bubble wrap or similar and place inside a sturdy box, don’t just pop it in a jiffy bag or a standard envelope even if it’s already broken.

Can you recover my data?

Unfortunately, we are not able to recover any data from your broken phone. In order to comply with strict data protection policies every device that we receive for repair will be factory reset. We also need to do this to allow us to perform a full diagnostic and quality check on the phone once a repair is completed. If you have a cloud-based backup service enabled, you should be able to restore most of your data once you receive your repaired phone back.

How much will a repair cost?

The cost of repair varies depending on the make and model of the phone. We offer several fixed cost repairs such as screen or battery replacements, but the best option is to select your device model and choose the relevant repair which will show you the exact cost. In some cases where the exact fault needs diagnosing our technicians will need to inspect the phone and provide a repair quote – there is an option for this during the booking process. In this case, we’ll send you a quote for the repair and you can choose if you wish to proceed.
